Club Information
The Club was originally formed in 1947 by employees of Lever Brothers Soap Factory
Port Sunlight Angling Club now controls a total of fourteen ponds and one lake in the Willaston, Raby and Thornton Hough areas. Ten of the ponds are situated on the one site. All the waters are situated within a two mile radius
Membership now includes affiliation to the Dee Anglers Association, which allows all members to coarse fish for free on their excellent stretches of the River Dee around Holt and Farndon.
The waters are maintained to a high standard, have purpose made swims and are accessed by safe off road parking. We have an annual stocking policy with the waters appealing to pleasure, match and carp anglers alike. They are fully stocked with a number of species of fish including, Mirror Carp, Common Carp, Crucian Carp, Roach, Rudd, Tench, Bream, Perch, Gudgeon, Chub, Ide and Barbel
The Club has the exclusive fishing rights to Raby Mere (a fully stocked five acre lake).
We also run away matches to some of the premier North West day ticket waters and our Card allows you to fish all of A.W.A.C’s waters. We are also members of the Angling trust and Fish Legal.Current members rejoin in March and it is only after this time that the new successful applicants are taken on.
We only have two levels of membership. Junior (8 up to 16 yrs) and Senior. Senior Subscription is currently £55 (plus one off joining fee of £20) Junior Subscription is currently £25 (there is no joining fee the juniors) Do not enclose any payment with your application form Please note that the proposer section of the enclosed application form is preferred. You must also provide a recent passport size photograph.
Please complete and return the attached application form with a SAE before the end of March. You will then join the waiting list.
In April will receive a letter informing you of the subscription fee and a date to come up to the club waters to pay your subs, receive the new members information pack and be shown around the waters.
