Huyton and District Angling Association

Address:

Two accessible miles on both banks of the River Dee at Pickhill Hall, between Holt and Bangor Isycoed.

General description

A remote yet accessible stretch of the River Dee is available to fish for free on the PSAC card, through our affiliation to H&D.A.A.

It is set in the grounds of an old stately home and you are unlikely to see another human being whilst you are fishing.

Huyton have had the stretch for over 100 yrs and you can see why. 100lb chub nets are possible with Individual fish to 7lb.

There are also some big grayling to 2lb.

TIP: The river has fresh cold water running through it on Thursdays and Sundays from Bala Lake where the river starts, when they open the gates to release water from the lake which can make fishing more difficult.
