About Port Sunlight Angling Club

Port Sunlight Angling Club are a progressive angling club, bucking the trend of many others in having a thriving membership.

Our Junior membership in particular has doubled since 2017.
We are proud to offer £1.00 a week Senior membership fees and to offer a genuine alternative to commercial fisheries, are ponds are well stocked but not pressured and you will find that on many of our waters you will be the only be the only angler present.

We also have a diverse portfolio, with F1 type match pools, intimate lily filled Crucian and Tench ponds, Carp filled lakes and through affiliations, access to fish 7 miles of the best fishing on the River Dee. through affiliations with D A.A. and H&D A.A and many Miles of the Shropshire Union, Llangollen and Montgomery Canals though affiliations with Lymm Angling Club and D.A.A.

Club history

  • 1947
    Port Sunlight Angling Club was formed
    The founder members, employees at Levers Soap Factory, start the Club and fish our first waters, which is now a housing estate, called Brookhurst in Eastham, Wirral.
  • Early 1960's
    Founder Member Jack Egan approaches Lord Leverhulme
    Founder Member Jack Egan approaches Lord Leverhulme and is personally taken by him to our current ponds on Benty Heath Lane
  • 1990's
    PSAC merges with Stork angling club
    PSAC merges with Stork angling club and takes on their Stork Ponds in Thornton Hough
  • 2011-2014
    PSAC purchase the Fireman's pond site
    PSAC purchase the Fireman's pond site and develop the water using Lottery funding
  • 2019
    New logo & website
    PSAC move to a new website and design a new logo
