Our First Away Match Of The Year Was Hard But Enjoyable

March 12th Match Report Cheshire Oaks Fishery

Our first away match of the year took place on Sunday 12th March, at Cheshire Oak Fishery. With temperatures plummeting in the week leading up to the match, it was expected to be a hard match, and it was, though the day itself turned out to be pleasant if not a little blustery at times.  Despite this 21 anglers had an enjoyable day competing with top spot on the day coming from peg 3 by Harry Selby with 25lbs 11oz, a barbel landed at the all out was enough to push him over the line for the win, in 2nd place was Paul Spilsbury with 25lbs 8oz from peg 23, section winners were Mark Selby, Des Dingwall, Kent Skillen and John ‘Fred’ Davis and the wooden spoon went to Craig Rogers. The next away match will take place on June 3rd at Partridge Lakes in Warrington.

A guess the winning weight competition was ran by Kent Skillen and Stephen Roxburgh that was won by Tim Green who has kindly donated the prize to the Claire House Fishing Charity. Well done Tim.
